Bake Oven Knob is a prominent high point on Blue Mountain near Germansville, Pennsylvania, along the Appalachian Trail and close to the Lehigh Valley. Its rocky outcrops provide broad views to the north and south, making it a popular hiking destination and a favored place to watch hawks and eagles. Much of its appeal comes from easy access, with parking a short distance from the lookout and only modest elevation gain despite some rocky footing and brief scrambles. Just north on the trail, the Bake Oven Shelter, built in 1937, is among Pennsylvania’s oldest shelters of its kind and is served by nearby springs.
