Pinetown Bushong's Mill Covered Bridge spans the Conestoga River in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, where Lititz Run joins the river. Built in 1867 by Elias McMellen for $4,500, this county-owned covered road bridge uses a single-span wooden Burr arch truss with steel hanger rods and an oak plank deck. Its present form reflects repeated flooding: Hurricane Agnes destroyed the bridge in 1972, but a strong local effort led nearby Amish builders to rebuild it in spring 1973 and raise it above the average water line. After damage from Tropical Storm Lee in 2011, it reopened in January 2014 and remains an active crossing and notable part of Lancaster County's covered-bridge heritage.
