Cottonwood Point Wilderness is a protected wilderness area on the Arizona Strip in northern Arizona, marked by two land peninsulas separated by Cottonwood Canyon. Its rugged terrain is covered with pinyon, juniper, and sagebrush, and its western peninsula rises to 6,322 feet from the Arizona-Utah border. The area also connects northward to a broader cross-border wild landscape, with Utah’s Canaan Mountain Wilderness immediately beyond. Established in 1984 through the Arizona Wilderness Act, it became part of the National Wilderness Preservation System and remains under the management of the Bureau of Land Management as a remote protected section of the Arizona Strip.
