Mountain High
Nature
Mountain High is a major winter resort in the San Gabriel Mountains west of Wrightwood, with three ski areas serving different roles and elevations. Its roots reach back to Southern California skiing in the 1920s near Big Pines, and the present resort grew from Blue Ridge, Holiday Hill, and Table Mountain Ski Area, which developed between 1937 and 1948 before being unified under the Mountain High name. The West Resort is the busiest and often has one of the longest seasons because of its higher elevation and snowmaking, while East offers Southern California’s longest run and North focuses on beginners and snow play. The resort also supports summer recreation and campgrounds.
