Nature
Mount Moriah stands in northern New Hampshire’s White Mountains in Coos County, forming part of the Carter-Moriah Range on the eastern side of Pinkham Notch. Its summit lies about five miles southeast of central Gorham, between Middle Moriah Mountain and Imp Mountain along the ridge. Located on the Appalachian Trail, it is both a destination for hikers and part of one of the United States’ best-known long-distance footpaths. The mountain is especially noted for its broad summit outlook, with views in all directions, and for its visual prominence along the Carter-Moriah crest in this well-used hiking area of New Hampshire’s high country.
