These barns were built in the 1940s on the 5000-acre cattle ranch in the southwest corner of Simi Valley. The ranch was known by many names over the years, including Cañada Verde during Spanish Rancho times, then the Verde, and names associated with it included McCoy, McNaughton, and the Taylor Ranch Co. The two barns were moved here in the early 1980s, when the area, now known as Wood Ranch, was developed into the housing seen today.
