Iowa Aviation Museum
Science & Tech
At Greenfield Municipal Airport in Greenfield, Iowa, the Iowa Aviation Museum preserves the state’s aviation heritage through a collection of civil aircraft and the Iowa Aviation Hall of Fame. Its displays include rare early flying machines from the 1920s through the 1940s, along with later sport and training aircraft, gliders, and replicas. The hall of fame, begun in 1990, honors Iowans who shaped aviation’s growth, including Ann Holtgren Pellegreno, John and Yvonne Schildberg, Neta Snook Southern, Wyman Fiske Marshall, and the Iowa Tuskegee Airmen. Together, the aircraft and honorees connect Iowa’s local history to the broader development of 20th-century aviation.
