Doane Peak is an 11,360-foot mountain in the northern Teton Range of Grand Teton National Park, rising west of Jackson Lake across from Colter Bay Village. Its more than 4,500 feet of relief above the lake give it a notably steep presence along the shoreline. Waterfalls Canyon lies immediately to its northeast, adding to the rugged, trail-less character of this part of the range. Named for Lieutenant Gustavus Cheyney Doane, the summit is reached by off-trail hiking and scrambling rather than by a developed route, making it a more remote destination than many of the park’s better-known viewpoints.
