Sunshine Farm and Gardens is a 60-acre arboretum and botanic garden near Falling Spring and Renick in the mountains of West Virginia at about 3,650 feet elevation. Open to the public, it combines display gardens, a garden center, and retail and wholesale nursery operations. It is distinguished by a vast plant collection of more than 10,000 varieties of perennials, bulbs, trees, and shrubs. A central specialty is breeding plants in the genus Helleborus, with six acres devoted to more than 168,000 hellebores. The site also emphasizes cultivating and propagating native plants from the eastern United States, including woodland perennials and wildflowers.
