Elmore State Park is a 755-acre Vermont park in Elmore, stretching between Lake Elmore and Elmore Mountain and offering swimming, boating, camping, picnicking, and hiking to the summit observation tower. Much of the park was created during the Great Depression after the town and residents donated 30 acres to the state in 1934 and Civilian Conservation Corps crews developed that land with nearby federal property. Between 1934 and 1936 they built the main access road, beach house, and beach, and remains of their camp still survive. Later additions included the mountain tower in 1939 and the campground in 1963. Its CCC-era features helped earn partial listing on the National Register of Historic Places in 2002.
