Haver Ridge Metro Park
Westminster, Ohio
· A Place to Enjoy and Experience Nature
Nature
Haver Ridge Metro Park is a 61 acre tract of land dedicated to longtime Park Director Kevin Haver, who gave forty two years of public service to the citizens of Allen County and oversaw the Park District’s transformation from two parks to more than 1600 acres scattered throughout the county. His love for nature and his commitment to conserving the natural resources found on this property are intended to continue serving the people of Allen County for generations to come. The Johnny Appleseed Metropolitan Park District is committed to conserving the natural resources of Haver Ridge Metro Park and the broader Allen County region. The area promotes biodiversity, cleans and slows water run-off, reduces erosion, builds soil, sequesters carbon from the air, and provides opportunities for people of all ages to experience a natural setting. Haver Ridge includes a number of different habitat types found throughout Allen County, and its ecosystems are diverse and fluid, with plants and animals that do not always follow convention.
