Ernie Tyler served as the umpire attendant for the Baltimore Orioles for 51 years, working 3,819 consecutive home games at Memorial Stadium and Camden Yards. From opening day 1960 to July 27, 2007, he maintained this streak until ending it to attend Cal Ripken, Jr.'s Hall of Fame ceremony. In 2004, Ernie Tyler was inducted into the Orioles Hall of Fame. Cal Ripken, Jr. called him Baltimore's true iron man and said he would be missed.
