Wallowa Lake State Park occupies the southern shore of Wallowa Lake in northeastern Oregon near Joseph, beside the small community of Wallowa Lake and at the edge of the surrounding mountains. It serves as a major base for recreation on the lake and in the nearby high country, offering hiking, horseback riding, canoeing, swimming, and boating, along with a tramway ascending high above the lake.
