Mount Cramer is a 10,716-foot peak in Idaho’s Sawtooth Range, on the border of Custer and Boise counties. It is the range’s second-highest mountain and the highest point in Boise County, within the Sawtooth Wilderness of the Sawtooth National Recreation Area. Rising in a rugged part of central Idaho, it also forms a drainage divide, with water flowing west to the South Fork of the Payette River and east toward the Salmon River. Far from an easy roadside summit, Mount Cramer is known as a demanding climb, typically approached from Hell Roaring Lake Trailhead by a 16-mile round trip that ends with an off-trail class 3 scramble.
