Moose Lake State Park, established in 1971 near Moose Lake, Minnesota, blends lakeshore, recovering forest, and outdoor recreation in terrain shaped by the last glacier. Till, outwash, and stranded ice blocks formed features including Moosehead and Echo lakes, while the park’s geology is further interpreted through an Agate/Geological Interpretive Center focused on Lake Superior agates. Its landscape reflects both loss and restoration, with planted pine and spruce alongside mature aspen, basswood, birch, and maple that support varied wildlife. Echo Lake and Moosehead Lake draw visitors for swimming, boating, fishing, hiking, camping, and winter recreation, making the park a year-round destination.
