Beartooth Mountain is a 12,356-foot summit in southern Montana’s Beartooth Mountains, standing in the Absaroka-Beartooth Wilderness within Custer National Forest. Among the highest peaks in its range, it is tied with Bowback Mountain as the 11th tallest in Montana. Along the same ridge a short distance to the northeast stands Bears Tooth, a sharp spire reaching 11,920 feet. Together, the mountain and its nearby spire form one of the notable high points in this rugged wilderness landscape.
