Sand Bridge State Park in Lewis Township, Union County, is Pennsylvania’s smallest state park, occupying three acres within Bald Eagle State Forest near Pennsylvania Route 192. Rather than offering major recreation facilities, it centers on a picnic area whose three pavilions were built by the Civilian Conservation Corps during the Great Depression, linking the site to New Deal public works. Rapid Run, a trout stream stocked by the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission, flows through the park. Established as a state park in 1978, it remains a modest but popular roadside stop and picnic destination. The origin of the name Sand Bridge is unknown.
