Rainbow Peak is a prominent 9,895-foot mountain in the Livingston Range of Glacier National Park, rising above the remote Bowman Lake area in northwestern Montana, with Rainbow Glacier just east and northeast of its summit. At 3,016 meters, it is the park’s ninth-highest mountain and stands out for its dramatic relief, with the summit more than a mile above Bowman Lake and a 5,865-foot climb from the Bowman Lake Campground parking lot. The mountain is also remembered for a fatal accident in July 1998, when two climbers died after a cornice collapsed on a snow-covered chimney during their ascent.
