A cast of a trunk from a prehistoric tree came from a Paleozoic forest that grew in the Congress Hill area in Girard Township, Clearfield County, on the Clifton Zindel property. About 300 million years old, it was excavated by Smith and Zindel Coal Company circa 1948 and donated by Mr. Paul Smith.
