After the fire of 1914, Young's Block was among the first buildings rebuilt in cement and opened in 1915. The Olympic Restaurant reopened there, and Ronald Young, son of Andrew Johnson Young, opened a garage and auto livery service that replaced the hotel's old livery stables. Known for his skill in mechanics and as a machinist, Ronald Young became especially renowned in Poulsbo for developing a classy round-bottomed fishing boat that soon became the preferred boat for many fishing resorts along the Strait of Juan de Fuca. From his basement workshop in the building, he hand-built nearly 900 Poulsbo boats between 1930 and the 1960s, when he retired. He never painted his boats, leaving that work to each new owner. The garage in Young's Block later stood in the driveway known today as Young's Way, and for many years the garage was owned by Ole Berg, who was also an avid fisherman.
