Brushy Lake Park
Nature
Brushy Lake Park is a ninety-acre recreation area in the wooded Cookson Hills of eastern Oklahoma, north of Sallisaw, beside three-hundred-acre Brushy Lake. Known as a quiet, secluded destination for camping, fishing, boating, and picnicking, it offers picnic areas, group shelters with electricity, concrete campsites including RV sites, playgrounds, a lighted boat ramp, docks, utility service, and comfort stations with showers. Once part of Oklahoma’s state park system, it was transferred to the city of Sallisaw after a proposed closure in 2011. By 2014, local management had improved maintenance and kept camping and RV spaces full.
