Old Razorback Mountain is a 5,650-foot summit in Nevada’s Selenite Range, rising sharply from the flat Black Rock Desert near Gerlach and Black Rock City. Though modest by state standards, it is notable for its abrupt relief, climbing more than 1,700 feet above the Black Rock playa in less than a mile, with an especially steep east side. This dramatic rise makes it a prominent landmark in the broad basin, heightened by nearby Trego Hot Springs at its northern base. Located on public land managed by the Bureau of Land Management, it has an officially recognized name and has become an iconic feature in the visual setting of Burning Man.
