Wildwood Recreation Site is a 580-acre natural recreation area in northern Oregon near Wildwood, east of Portland, within the Mount Hood National Forest along the Salmon River. Managed by the Bureau of Land Management, it preserves old-growth forest, streams, and wetlands and offers five miles of interpretive trails, including Cascade Streamwatch, where visitors can look directly into fish habitat beneath a mountain stream. Its restored side channel, nearby wetlands, and surrounding habitats support salmon, trout, amphibians, birds, and mammals. Near the end of the historic Barlow Road, it also serves as an environmental education site and day-use recreation area.
