Depot Covered Bridge in Pittsford, Vermont, carries Depot Hill Road over Otter Creek near the town’s center, linking the village with western parts of the community as a working one-lane bridge. Built about 1840, it is one of Vermont’s older surviving covered bridges and an example of the Town lattice truss form widely used in 19th-century New England. The wooden bridge spans 121 feet on stone abutments later faced in concrete, with vertical board siding and a slate roof. Restored and reinforced in 1974 and again in 2006, it reflects continuing efforts to preserve a structure still serving local traffic.
