Gorham Covered Bridge carries Gorham Bridge Road over Otter Creek on the boundary between Proctor and Pittsford in central-northern Vermont. Built in 1841, it is a Town lattice truss bridge and one of Vermont’s oldest surviving covered bridges, still serving as a working 19th-century road span. The 114-foot single span rests on stone abutments later faced in concrete, with vertical board siding and a gabled roof now covered in corrugated metal. Abraham Owen and Nicholas M. Powers built it when Powers was Owen’s apprentice, and it remains one of the few surviving Vermont bridges known to have been built by Powers.
