With the permission of the Parkland City Commission, Carolyn Marks established Parkland's library in the concession stand of Quigley Park on November 15, 1988, and that small room became the stepping stone to the present library approved by the City Commission in 1990. The Parkland Library is one of very few non-county libraries in Broward County. It later moved to a double-wide trailer on the grounds just north of Old City Hall at Parkside Drive and Holmberg Road, and the trailer officially celebrated its grand opening on November 15, 1992. Groundbreaking for the present Parkland Library occurred on April 12, 2002, and the 10,000-square-foot library officially opened within the City Hall Complex on June 3, 2003. The library includes an extensive children's book collection, community meeting room, and story garden, while members of the Parkland Friends of the Library help maintain community engagement and interest. The 7,500-square-foot children's wing and remodeled adult library opened on February 2020.
