Mount Lincoln is a 5,868-foot summit in Washington’s Olympic Mountains, set at the junction of wilderness, park, and national forest boundaries in Mason County. The second-highest point on Sawtooth Ridge, it rises dramatically above the Staircase area near Lake Cushman and drains into tributaries of the North Fork Skokomish, as well as toward Mildred Lakes and the Hamma Hamma River. Its name is generally presumed to honor Abraham Lincoln. The peak was probably reached in 1890 by the Second O'Neil Expedition, but the first documented ascent came in 1932. Shaped by Pacific weather and glaciation, it is known for rugged climbing routes and avalanche-prone winter conditions.
