Mount Rose is a 4,301-foot summit in the southeastern Olympic Mountains above Lake Cushman in Mason County, within the Mount Skokomish Wilderness and Olympic National Forest. Its most striking feature is its steep rise, climbing about 3,600 feet above the lake in less than a mile. Its slopes drain into Lake Cushman and are forested with old-growth Douglas fir, western hemlock, and western redcedar. The mountain was officially named for Alfred A. Rose, the first settler in the Lake Cushman area, who arrived in 1885 and farmed there until his death in 1889. Fire has also marked the mountain, notably in 2006 and again in 2025.
