Kenosha North Pier Light stands at the end of the north pier on Lake Michigan, guiding vessels into Kenosha harbor as part of a light station first established in 1856. Earlier structures were lost to natural forces or replaced as the piers expanded, and the present cast-iron tower was built in 1906 to replace the old Kenosha Light Station. A classic Lake Michigan pierhead lighthouse, it has a tapered form, lantern room, and interior cast-iron stair. Once part of a larger harbor navigation system, it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2008 and was later auctioned and adapted for arts programming, while remaining closed to the public.
