Prince William's Parish Church, known as Old Sheldon, was built from 1745 to 1755, burned by the British in 1779, rebuilt in 1826, and burned again in 1865 by the Federal Army. It was named for the ancestral home of the Bull family in Warwickshire, England. Annual services were held on the second Sunday after Easter.
