In Sparks, Maryland, at the headquarters of USA Lacrosse, this institution preserves and interprets the history of lacrosse in the United States. Its collections trace the game from its Native American origins to its modern form and include photographs, art, vintage equipment and uniforms, trophies, and other memorabilia. The hall of fame began inducting notable figures in 1957. Before relocating to Sparks in 2016, it was based in Baltimore on the Homewood campus of Johns Hopkins University, long associated with American lacrosse. Together, the hall of fame and museum present both the sport’s honored figures and the broader story of its development.
