Welcome to Magone Lake
Nature
Magone Lake was formed in the early 1800s by a landslide that dammed Lake Creek. Tilted trees rode down with the slide. The lake, at an elevation of 5000 feet, covers 50 acres and reaches a depth of 98 feet. It was named for "Major" Magone, who first visited the area in the 1800s and stocked it with fish.
