Talona Mountain is a summit in Georgia that rises to 2,090 feet. Its name comes from the former nearby Cherokee settlement of Talona, connecting the mountain to the area’s earlier Indigenous geography. Although it is identified today simply as a mountain summit, the name preserves part of the region’s local history as well as a physical feature of the landscape.
