Chapman J. Stuart

Born January 8, 1820, Chapman J. Stuart was prosecuting attorney of Doddridge County from 1852 to 1861. After voting against secession at the Richmond Convention, he was elected senator of the Restored Government of VA. He also served as a delegate to the constitutional convention and was lieutenant colonel of the 14th WV. Later a circuit judge and a state legislator, Stuart died in 1888.
