Imperial Glass Company was a major American glassware manufacturer based in Bellaire, Ohio, founded by Edward Muhleman in 1901 and producing glass from 1904. Known especially for handmade wares and pressed glass patterns sold worldwide, it grew into one of the largest glass factories under one roof at its 29th Street plant. Its best-known line, Candlewick, became so identified with the company that Bellaire named a street for it. After severe financial troubles in the early 1970s, Lenox briefly rescued the business, but low demand led to its closure in 1984. The factory was demolished in 1995, leaving the former offices, now the National Imperial Glass Museum, as its chief surviving link.
