Wet Beaver Wilderness is a 6,155-acre protected area in Arizona’s Coconino National Forest centered on Wet Beaver Creek, a rare perennial stream whose waters shape the canyon landscape and support abundant wildlife, including elk, deer, bear, mountain lion, and many smaller animals. The creek joins Dry Beaver Creek at McGuireville, then continues past Montezuma Well and Montezuma Castle to the Verde River near Camp Verde. Recreation focuses on the creek and canyon, especially hiking, horseback riding, fishing, swimming, wildlife watching, and photography. Access is mainly by Bell Trail, a historic stock trail, while Apache Maid Trail provides the only other route through the wilderness.
