Buffalo Bill Cody Scenic Byway is a 27.5-mile route in northwestern Wyoming that runs west from Cody toward Yellowstone National Park, following the North Fork of the Shoshone River through Wapiti Valley to Sylvan Pass. Much of it lies within Shoshone National Forest and combines striking scenery with recreation, including access to Buffalo Bill Reservoir and Buffalo Bill State Park. The corridor is also rich in wildlife and historic places, such as Pahaska Tepee, Colter’s Hell, Buffalo Bill Dam, Mummy Cave, and Wapiti Ranger Station. Designated a National Forest Scenic Byway in 1991 and a Wyoming State Scenic Byway in 1995, it remains a classic western approach to Yellowstone.
