Duck Lake State Park is a 728-acre public recreation area on the Lake Michigan shore southwest of Whitehall in western Michigan. Extending from the north side of Duck Lake to Lake Michigan, it brings together inland water, shoreline, and a prominent sand dune in a compact setting. The land was bought by The Nature Conservancy from two Boy Scout organizations, then acquired by the state in 1974, which cleared the former scout camps and built access roads. Officially dedicated in 1988, the park later gained a new entrance off Scenic Drive in 2005. Its beach at the mouth of Duck Lake is especially popular for swimming and fishing, alongside trails and varied outdoor recreation.
