Walnut Grove School #10 was a one-room schoolhouse built in the latter part of the 1800's as one of ten similar schools in Jefferson Township. Its last class was held in 1920 as many small rural schools were consolidated into larger districts. For the next half century, after two side sheds were added, it served agricultural purposes as a corn crib, equipment storage building, and hog nursery. Ken and Ann Wobbecke restored it to its original configuration in 2001-2002 to preserve its history.
