This board and batten house was built in 1874 as a drugstore by Dr. James McCoy, the first physician of Westminster Colony, which was founded in 1870 by Rev. L.P. Webber. From 1912 to 1984 it was the home of local educator Marie Larter Hare. In 1976 it was restored by the Westminster Historical Society and City Council as a Bicentennial Community project.
