Three patriots of the American Revolution rest in this cemetery, and a fourth soldier is also recognized here. Elisha Raymond, born in 1761, enlisted in the Rhode Island Militia in 1776 at age 15 and completed seven tours of duty. He moved to Racine in 1835 and died there in 1842. Lot Search, born in 1762, first enlisted at age 15 and served for short periods from 1777 to 1779 in three New Jersey regiments, fighting at Monmouth. He moved to Racine in 1843 and died in 1851. Rufus Carver joined the militiamen at age 19 and marched to Cambridge following the Battle of Lexington in 1775, and he also was at the Battle of Breed’s Hill. Around 1838, he and his family moved to East Troy, where he died at age 85. Ebenezer Whiting, born in 1761 in New York, served one year in a Massachusetts regiment. He died in Racine in 1836 and was buried in the Root River Cemetery, though his exact gravesite has never been found.
