Yellowhead Mountain stands on the Alberta–British Columbia border in Canada, just west of Yellowhead Pass in Mount Robson Provincial Park. By straddling the Continental Divide, it lies directly on the boundary between the two provinces. The mountain was named for Pierre Bostonais, also known as Tête Jaune, and it has four officially named summits: Bingley Peak, Leather Peak, Lucerne Peak, and Tête Roche. Set in a subarctic climate zone, Yellowhead Mountain has cold, snowy winters and mild summers, with temperatures that can drop below −20 °C and wind chills below −30 °C. Climbing conditions are generally best from July to September.
