History

A brick building constructed on this site prior to 1866 housed Mount Shasta Lodge No. 281 F. & A.M. from 1886 to 1895 and again from 1934 until its sale to the City of Anderson in 2001. In the intervening years, it also served as a furniture and upholstery store, harness shop, photographic studio, real estate office, post office, and general office building. The building was demolished in 2006, and the brick facade on the new building was made with bricks salvaged from the demolition.
