Ashuelot Covered Bridge spans the Ashuelot River in Ashuelot Village, linking the north-bank village center with the railroad station to the south. Built in 1864–65 and opened in 1865 to replace an earlier crossing long under discussion, it is one of New Hampshire’s few surviving 19th-century covered bridges. The wooden bridge uses a Town lattice truss with two spans on stone abutments and a central pier, and repairs after the 1938 New England Hurricane indicated that timbers from the older bridge were reused in its structure. A major rehabilitation in 1998–99 restored key features and returned buried granite capstones to view.
