Coombs Covered Bridge is a wooden covered road bridge in northern Winchester, New Hampshire, spanning the Ashuelot River between Winchester and Swanzey. Built in 1843, it is one of the state’s relatively few surviving covered bridges from the 19th century. The single-span bridge rests on unmortared stone abutments and uses Town lattice trusses, with vertical board siding and a metal gabled roof. Named for nearby farmer Anthony Coombs, Jr., it has long been maintained by the town of Winchester. Major repairs in 1971 and 1997 helped preserve it as a working historic crossing, and it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976.
