Evans Creek Preserve
Nature
Evans Creek Preserve is a 179-acre natural area in Sammamish, Washington, protecting Evans Creek, wetlands, meadows, other water features, and steep terrain. Donated to the city in 2000, it is valued for supporting diverse habitat, including black bears, beavers, hawks, deer, and songbirds. It also features nurse trees, old stumps that nourish new growth and reflect the forest’s cycle of renewal. Public access grew through a 2011 partnership that added parking, restrooms, trails, benches, and other amenities, followed by more trail construction from 2013 to 2016. The preserve now has two trailheads.
