Kenneth Strang, a 2nd Lt. and graduate of the 21st Oklahoma Highway Patrol Academy, was born on Feb. 13, 1942, and died on Mar. 1, 1980. In the early morning hours of March 1, 1980, he lost his life in an accident on the north edge of this bridge while driving home in his patrol unit after working the night shift on icy roads. He was remembered for doing his duty and helping others arrive home safely.
