Dromedary Peak is an 11,107-foot mountain in Utah’s Wasatch Range, about 15 miles southeast of downtown Salt Lake City, within the Twin Peaks Wilderness of Wasatch–Cache National Forest. Part of the Rockies that rise sharply above the city and its canyons, it is named for a profile that from the right angle resembles a dromedary camel, a name officially adopted by the United States Board on Geographic Names. Its dramatic relief is most evident above Little Cottonwood Canyon, where the summit climbs about 3,800 feet in 1.5 miles. Water from its slopes drains into Little Cottonwood Creek and Big Cottonwood Creek, both flowing west toward the Jordan River.
