Waddington Farms was the summer home of Mr. and Mrs. Earl W. Oglebay and later became Oglebay Park, one of the finest municipal parks in the country. A plan created for Mr. Oglebay in 1909 showed the proposed arrangement of grounds for the estate. The clubhouse appeared in 1902 before the addition of a second floor, and in 1910 it appeared again after the Oglebays renovated its interior following their trip to Egypt. A view from the clubhouse to the greenhouses in 1910 showed the beginning of the development of the Formal Gardens.
