Nature
Snowbank Mountain is the highest peak in Idaho’s West Mountains, rising to 8,320 feet within Boise National Forest. Prominent above the surrounding landscape, it has 3,080 feet of topographic prominence, with Nick Peak as its line parent 21.92 miles away. The mountain is also important in the local Payette River watershed, forming a divide between drainage flowing east toward the North Fork Payette River and drainage flowing west into Squaw Creek, another tributary of the Payette.
